Them That Follow
98min. Directed by Britt Poulton, Dan Madison Savage.
Starring
Kaitlyn Dever, Walton Goggins, Olivia Colman

In the wilderness of Appalachia, the members of an isolated community of Pentecostal snake handlers led by Pastor Lemuel (Walton Goggins) risk their lives each Sunday to attest themselves before God. Lemuel’s daughter (Alice Englert) prepares for her upcoming wedding while scrambling to hide a secret relationship that has the potential to drive her father’s church to ruin. Academy Award-winner Olivia Colman, Jim Gaffigan, Thomas Mann, Kaitlyn Dever, and Lewis Pullman also star in this feature debut from writer-directors Britt Poulton and Dan Madison Savage. The film is a thrilling, poignant look at a misunderstood community where morality and belief are not always aligned, and where the consequences can be devastating when faith is stretched to a breaking point.

Presented as part of the VFF at Violet Crown film series in partnership with Virginia Film Festival.
